A Christmas runner with a little red truck carrying a tree, "be Merry" lettering and rows of patchwork squares. It uses a little embroidery and easy machine applique.

Cross blocks: 3/8 yard each of light gray and medium gray
Plain blocks: 1 fat quarter each of red, green and aqua
Applique border: 1/4 yard light gray
Binding and thin accent border: 3/8 yard red
Backing: 1 1/2 yards
Applique fabrics: "MERRY" lettering, truck and tree top 9" x 21" red; tires, bumper and back end of truck 3" x 6" black; window, windshield and headlights 4" x 4" light gray; license plate and hubcaps 2" x 2" dark gray; Christmas tree 4" x 5" green; tree trunk 2" x 2" brown
Supplies: black and red thread for machine applique, fusible web for machine applique, red pearl cotton size 8, size 24 chenille needle
