The Southport dress is designed to double as a coverup at the beach and a dress for around town. It has a button opening at center front and a drawstring waist with inseam pockets. View A hits 20" below the waist; View B is maxi length, hitting 42" below the waist, and includes a center front slit.

Supplies needed:
View A, 45" fabric: 2.3 yards (sizes 0-8), 2.5 yards (sizes 10-18)
View A, 54" fabric: 1.5 yards (sizes 0-8), 1.75 yards (sizes 10-18)
View B, 45" fabric: 3.5 yards (sizes 0-4), 3.75 yards (sizes 6-12), 4 yards (sizes 14-18)
View B, 54" fabric: 2.75 yards (sizes 0-6), 3 yards (sizes 8-12), 3.2 yards (sizes 14-18)
Notions: coordinating thread, 3 yards single fold 1/2" bias tape, 1/4 yard lightweight fusible interfacing, four 1/4" to 3/8" buttons, safety pin
Fabric: lightweight wovens with movement such as cotton voile, rayon challis, crepe de chine and lightweight linen. Extra fabric may be needed to match stripes, plaids or directional prints.
